The Maze Runner, le Labyrinthe avant première !

Le 08/10/14, s'est tenue l'avant-première du film "le Labyrinthe" ! Le film était projeté au cinéma le Rex sur un écran géant descendu du plafond pour l'occasion ! Les acteurs n'étaient malheureusement pas présent. Dylan O'Brien était annoncé, mais sa venue a été annulée... la raison, le film rencontrant un vif succès dans les pays où il est sorti, le tournage du deuxième opus a déjà débuté !

Le film est adapté du roman de l'auteur James Dashner dont le livre est intitulé "L'Épreuve : le Labyrinthe". Il s'agit d'une trilogie.

Cette adaptation a été réalisée par Wes Ball, le casting se compose de : Dylan O'Brien (série Teen Wolf), Will Poulter (Le Monde de Narnia : l’Odyssée du Passeur d'Aurore), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones)....

Synopsis : Alors qu'il ne sait plus rien de lui, Thomas se retrouve pris au piège avec d’autres garçons au cœur d'un labyrinthe géant et vivant, dont l'infrastructure évolue chaque nuit. S'il n'a plus aucun souvenir de sa vie antérieur, Thomas se trouve confronté à d’étranges rêves, ou plutôt, des flashback, à propos d’une mystérieuse organisation appelée W.C.K.D. Son but, sortir du labyrinthe et faire le rapprochement entre celui-ci et W.C.K.D. Ce n'est que lorsqu'il parvient à s'échapper à ces murs menaçants, qu'il découvre avec les autres survivants qu'ils ne sont, en réalité, rien d'autres que des rats de laboratoire que l'on étudie pour la soit-disant survie de l'espèce humaine qui hors de cette mise en scène, doit non seulement affronter un virus agressif mais également une catastrophe solaire qui ravage la Terre.

Le film : Une histoire qui se tient. Survie, entraide et union sont les fils conducteurs de cette adaptation qui met en avant les comportements que peuvent adopter les gens lorsqu'ils sont rendus à la nature et qu'ils se retrouvent confronter au danger. Comme dans tous les groupes, il y en a toujours un qui veut endosser le rôle du chef (Gally), et pas toujours à bon escient. Un jovial (Chuck) qui essaye toujours de venir en aide aux autres et qui essaye de maintenir une certaine foi au sein de l'équipe. Un aventurier plus dégourdi que les autres qui tente de trouver une issue pour tous (Minho), un observateur qui écoute ce qui se dit, qui analyse les situations et tranche pour les autres (Newt), et enfin, l'électron libre qui refuse de suivre les règles du jeu imposées et qui chamboule tout sur son passage (Thomas).

Les effets spéciaux sont plutôt réussis. Les métamorphoses du labyrinthe sont assez fluides, le rendu des Griffeurs est correct. Côté cadrage en revanche, pour certaines scènes de combats, la caméra bouge beaucoup trop, ça devient difficile à suivre, on ne voit plus grand chose, plus rien en fait. Juste des ombres en mouvement, on ne distingue plus qui est qui, seules les couleurs des vêtements ou de la peau permettent de repérer le personnage qui se bat contre un ennemi, déjà à peine visible à cause de sa couleur grisâtre qui se confond largement aux murs du labyrinthe. Les acteurs sont crédibles dans l'interprétation des personnages.

Conclusion : Mise à part quelques cadrages trop mobiles au point de ne plus pouvoir suivre l'action, ce film est à aller voir pour passer un bon moment, et pour gamberger sur l'avenir du Monde !

On October, 8th, 2014, was held The Maze's premiere! The movie was showed at the Rex Movie Theater on a giant screen hung from the ceiling just for this purpose! The actors were unfortunatly not present. Dylan O'Brian was announced, but his visit was canceled... The reason, the movie held such a success in the countries where it premiered that the second opus started already!

The movie was adapted from James Dashner's novel entitled The Maze Runner. It's a trilogy serie.

This adaptation was directed by Wes Ball. The casting consists of: Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf serie), Will Poulter (The Chronicles of Narnia; The voyage of the Dawn Treader), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones)...

Summary: while he no longer remembered anything about himself, Thomas is trapped with other boys in the heart of a giant living Maze whose infrastructure evolves every night. If he had no memory of his past life, Thomas found himself facing strange dreams, or rather, flashbacks, about a mysterious organization called WCKD. His aim, get out of the maze and find the link between it and WCKD. It's not until he manages to escape from the threatening walls, that he discovers with other survivors that they are nothing more than labrats observed for the so-called purpose the survival of the human race who, out of this staging, must not only face an agressive virus, but also a solar catastrophy devastating the Earth.

The movie: A story that holds its own. Survival, mutual aid and union are the main drives of this adaptation that puts forward the behaviors which humans can adopt when they are sent back to nature and confronted to danger. Like all teams, there is always a wanna-be leader (Gally), not always so wise. A jolly one (Chuck), who is always trying to help and to maintain a certain faith in the heart of the team. An adventurer smarter than others who is always seeking a way for all (Minko), an observer who is listening to what is being said, who is analyzing the situations and who is deciding for the others (Newt), and finally, the free electron who is never following the rules of the game and who is turning everything upside down (Thomas).

The special effects are actually good. The Maze's transformations are actually smooth, the Glader's rendering is good. The framing however, for a few fight scenes, the camera moved too much, it became difficult to follow, not much was seen, nothing in fact. Just moving shadows, we couldn't distinguish who was who, only the clothes' colors or skin allowed to spot the characters who fought against an ennemi, already barely visible because of his greyish tone which was getting mixed up with the maze's walls. The actors were believable in the character interpretation.

Conclusion: besides a few movable framings to in which we couldn't follow the action, this movie is a must see to spend a good moment, and to mull over the future of the world.
